Policies
Proper
Protocol:
The student must use the proper titles when speaking to any
senior instructors; thus, SiFu Jon Diament will be called
SiFu at all times. This policy also applies to higher-ranking
instructors like SiFu Jon Diament’s instructor; hence,
he will be called SiGung at all times also. Every student
must bow before and after every class, seminar and sparring
match.
Testing
Policy:
All practitioners will be graded at SiFu’s discretion.
When you are ready for your next pillar test, SiFu will notify
you personally. Each test will have a physical and an academic
portion. The physical test will have a set protocol that will
be explained by SiFu or any of the senior students. The academic
portion may be written or an oral examination may be given.
Testing for any particular level must also include testing
on all levels prior to that particular level. For example,
if the practitioner is testing for the Bil Jee level, he/she
must also test for the Chum Kil and Sil Lum Tao levels within
the same test.
Grading
Policy:
A practitioner will start a test with a hundred points and
for every mistake there is a three-point deduction. The practitioner
must receive an 80 or above to pass. Honors is considered
94 or above on any test. When multiple tests are taken, the
average of all the tests will be used as the final grade for
the pillar that was taken. If a practitioner passes any pillar
test, a certificate will be issued.
Teaching
Policy:
Any practitioner may be asked to help in teaching at any time
of their training. The practitioner must be at least one level
above the student that he/she is teaching.
