Qigong
Training
Qigong
or Chi Gung is an ancient Chinese healing art designed to
preserve and improve our vital energy. There are many kinds
of Qigong. All share the goal of personal refinement. Qigong
training typically includes exercises that are comprised of
special breathing, visualization, static and/or moving postures.
Most training techniques can be classified into two different
categories; nei gung and wai gung.
Nei
Gung, or internal work, manipulates mental or spiritual energy
which is comprised of logical and emotional thought processes.
Its intent is to direct energy through the body using the
mind. Wai Gung, or external work, focuses on activating the
body’s energy through physical movement.
Tien
Ti Chi Gung, Heaven and Earth Energy Work, is a combination
of Wai Gung
and
Nei Gung
techniques. This system of Chi Gung is divided into eight
different levels. The first four levels are comprised of external
exercises which teach basic postures and movements. Energetic
qualities become manifested at a physical level in order to
build a foundation for more advanced exercises in the following
levels. The last four levels deal with spiritual development.
The exercises in these levels will refine the emotional composition
of the practitioner.
The
Tien Ti Chi Gung system includes the following levels:
Level 1: Zhan Zhuang
